Star’s Weather School for April 15: Learning all about rainbows

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — While your kids are at home all day, we want to help keep them engaged and entertained by learning about the weather.

Weather Authority Meteorologist Star Derry held her latest session of “Weather School” on Wednesday, April 15. The Facebook Live video of the lesson is archived in the video player above.

Here’s a rundown of this week’s lesson:

  • Lesson: Learning the colors of the rainbow (ROY G BIV) and locations of rainbows. Wear rainbow colors if you’d like!
  • Craft: Weather Authority Rainbow Coloring sheet. Need: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet crayons, pencils, or markers + additional assorted colors like light blue and grey. Submit pictures of your student and their coloring to be shown on the morning Newscast.
  • Make a rainbow! Need: glass drinking glass, handheld mirror, flashlight.
