INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 25, 2016) – Several cars caught fire early Friday morning in a parking garage at IU Health Methodist Hospital.
Around 4:10 a.m., someone passing through Garage 1 saw the cars on fire. Six cars were affected with damage estimated at $50,000. At least one car was a total loss according to investigators on scene.
The cause of the car fires remains under investigation. No one was hurt.
The hospital said Garage 1 would remain closed until further notice. Patients and families are being asked to use Garage 2, while workers are being asked to use Garage 3 or the surface lots.
Early today there was a fire in Garage 1 at IU Health Methodist Hospital. No injuries were reported and the fire was extinguished by IFD.

Until that time, surgery patients are being diverted to Garage 2, and staff to Garage 3 or surface lots.
