Pacers begin Summer Hoops Tour, Teague gets involved

WESTFIELD, Ind. – The Pacers Summer Hoops Tour tipped of in Westfield Monday as 125 boys and girls joined new Pacer Jeff Teague at Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse, going through basketball drills to develop their skill and love of the game.

Teague is an Indianapolis native and comes to the Circle City after seven seasons with the Atlanta Hawks.

“It’s always fun to come back home and have a chance to meet the kids and touch the community,” said Teague. “Being here and playing for the Pacers now, it’s even (more) special.”

The Pacers Summer Hoops Tour runs all this week, with events in Greensburg, Broad Ripple, Indianapolis, and Avon.

“Just have fun with it,” is the advice Teague says he can pass on to everyone at the event. “Enjoy it every day. If you love it, play it.”
