INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 16, 2015) – Broncos Head Coach Gary Kubiak announced quarterback Peyton Manning will not play in Sunday’s matchup at the Bears and Brock Osweiler will make the start in Manning’s place.

ESPN reports the former Colts quarterback has a partially torn plantar fascia in his left foot and was suffering from that injury in the week leading up to Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs. In that game, Manning set the NFL record for career passing yards, passing Brett Favre for the top spot. However, Manning proceeded to have the worst game of his career, tossing four interceptions and was pulled in the third quarter with a 0 QB rating.

Osweiler replaced Manning and completed 14-of-24 passes for 146 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. A fourth-year pro out of Arizona State, Sunday’s game in Chicago will mark Osweiler’s first career start.
