Rattinger was sentenced to one year at the Boone County Jail, with all but two days suspended. She’ll be on supervised probation for 363 days.

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – A Zionsville woman was charged with false reporting Friday after police say she lied about being attacked.

Police say Tina Rattinger, 35, fabricated every detail of an attempted kidnapping she reported on March 28, including her injuries.

Rattinger told police she was taking her trash out around 11:30 a.m. in The Domain at Bennett Farms Apartments when a white van pulled up.She told police a Hispanic man got out of the van and grabbed her from behind as she was placing her trash in the compactor. She said the man held a knife to her neck and he attempted to pull her into the van. The woman said she was able to eventually free herself but did sustain some injuries. The victim then stated she ran into the main office to get help.

Police said they found all of these details to be fabricated on April 20.

Rattinger was booked into the Boone County Jail with $550 cash bond.
