HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (Feb. 16, 2016) – A woman who returned from church came home to find a masked man in her bedroom, police say.

The woman fought back as the man began to hit her and then attempted to strangle her. The woman lost consciousness; when she woke up, he was gone. Some items were missing from her home, police said.

The frightening home invasion happened Saturday at a home just east of Noblesville in the 18900 block of Mallery Road. Deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly after 9 p.m. to a report of a burglary in progress.

The victim told them that she found a masked intruder in her home who attacked her. A few small items, including electronics and cash, were missing. The woman went to an area hospital, where she was treated and released.

She gave police a vague description of her attacker, saying the man wore a thick coat and a black mask.
