Vacant house fire, bitter cold greet Indy firefighters

INDIANAPOLIS – An early morning house fire kept Indianapolis firefighters busy Wednesday.

Fire crews were called to the 900 block of Albany St., on the city’s southeast side at 2:20 a.m. Initially there was concern there might have been someone trapped inside, but investigators determined that the structure was vacant.

Arson investigators are taking at look at the fire scene. The house was reportedly being refurbished.

Although the thermometer reading was in the single digits, no serious difficulties were reported with the firefighter response.
