Trooper struck by vehicle while responding to other accident

Jackson County, IND. — An Indiana State Police Trooper is recovering after being struck by a vehicle late Friday night.

Trooper Michael Thiron was responding to another accident on I-65 near the 30 mile marker when his vehicle was struck by another passing motorist.

The officer was transported to a hospital in Seymour with injuries, where he is still getting treatment. Thiron was awake and alert at the scene.
