(May 9, 2015) – It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday and there are plenty of businesses that are offering special deals to help mom celebrate her special day!
The Indiana Repertory Theatre has a great deal for $55.
“You can go early to the IRT on Sunday, and attend a brunch at noon. They you can stay for a performance of On Golden Pond. That’s a play they’re producing right now, and there will be shows both Saturday and Sunday,” said Amanda Dorman with Downtown Indy.
There are also gondola rides on the downtown Canal. They cost as low as $25.
If you’re planning to take your mom out to eat, Mass Avenue is a favorite for several different spots.
“You have Adobo Grill if you want some Mexican inspired food, the Propylaeum. It’s a beautiful historic house in the old north side. There are also great brunch restaurants like Milktooth in Flectcher Place,” said Dorman.
And speaking of Milktooth, it’s one of a few places that have something you want to look for on Mother’s Day–no reservations! Because they don’t take reservations, if you go there early you have a better chance of getting in.
If you`re unsure if a restaurant has an open table, try using Open Table, it’s a quick way to book a table without having to call around.
Don’t “Cheetah” your mom out of this one! It’s a day at the Indianapolis Zoo, with cheetahs, elephants, butterflies and more! They’re having their 4th annual Mother’s Day celebration, where they’re celebrating moms of all species.
“You can come to the zoo Saturday and Sunday throughout the day. It’s a two day event, and it includes a scavenger hunt to find the animal moms around the zoo. You’re going search for clues, and learn some fun facts as well,” said Carla Knapp, with the Indianapolis Zoo.
Mother’s Day weekend activities are free for zoo members and included with regular admission. Guests are encouraged to save time and money by purchasing tickets online.
And lastly, Easley Winery is doing something special for Mother’s Day. Taste 7 premium wines, deliciously coupled with a variety of chocolates, ending with a glass of Indiana Champagne for $10 a person.
