INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 31, 2015)– Some dads will do anything for their daughters, and CBS4 found one of them Friday night at the One Direction concert in the Circle City.
Roger Fraser and his two daughters are from Tennessee, and they entered a local radio contest to dress Fraser up as a big One Direction fan to win prime tickets to the show.
As part of his strategy, he got a One Direction tattoo– a real one. The problem is that one of the contest rules was that you have to be a permanent resident of Indiana, meaning he couldn’t win.
“My great idea was to get a 1D tattoo and later on, we’re talking and I mentioned to her, ‘I hope this isn’t one of those contests where you have to be a resident of the state to win the contest.’ She pulls the rules up and sure enough, you have to be a permanent resident of Indiana and we live in Nashville, Tennessee.”
Despite the loss, he says he’s keeping the tattoo as a funny memory.
“I’m keeping it forever. It’s a good memory for me and my daughters. I did it for them. It’s going to stay with me forever.”
One of Fraser’s daughters tweeted out their plight, which got thousands of retweets. The three still made it to Friday’s One Direction concert in Indy. They got tickets from someone else they knew in town.
my dad would get a REAL 1D tattoo to help me win front row seats but we got disqualified bc we don't live in Indiana pic.twitter.com/oYAH6ZxzZ7
