INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– IMPD SWAT was called to an apartment on the city’s east side Thursday.

Officers were initially attempting to serve a warrant for a community corrections violation. Police say they knocked on the door and heard a disturbance inside. They could tell at least two people were in the apartment, located in the 4500 block of Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive.

When officers tried to make entry into the apartment, they heard what they believe was the sound of a gun racking. At that point, SWAT and negotiators were called to the scene.

The suspect, 35-year-old Sean Hatton, eventually exited the apartment with the other occupant after police deployed gas twice. They believe the other person was in there willingly.

Officers will search the apartment to find out if a gun was present. Hatton could face additional charges. IMPD says the other person in the apartment was detained, but not arrested.

No injuries were reported.
