INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 11, 2014) — Police have identified the suspects in a burglary that led to an officer-involved shooting Saturday morning.

32-year-old Andre Taylor and 23-year-old Donte Jones are being held in the Marion County Jail on preliminary robbery charges. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case for a final charging decision.

Police were called to the burglary on the 2300 block of North Kenwood Avenue just after 2AM. The suspects, after beating up two people inside the home, fled through the back door when the officers arrived. While fleeing, at least one of the suspects fired shots at the officers. They returned fire, hitting Taylor. Jones was apprehended a short time later. No officers were injured in the shooting. The people inside the home who were beaten by the suspects were taken to IU Methodist in good condition.
