INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana state troopers are towing vehicles that were abandoned in the roadway during the ice storm late Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Police say many of the vehicles are safety hazards for those traveling in the wintry conditions and are hindering INDOT workers from properly plowing and treating roadways.

With more inclement weather expected later in the day Saturday, troopers will impound the vehicles. Motorists are encouraged to remove their vehicles themselves as an impounded vehicle can cost as much as $150 to $200 to recover from the wrecker service.

If you find your vehicle has been impounded, you can call the Indiana State Police Indianapolis District at 317-899-8577.
