HENRY COUNTY, Ind. – A state trooper was sent to an area hospital with minor injuries Wednesday afternoon after his cruiser collided with a semi on I-70.
Police say Trooper Doug Snyder was responding to a wrecked semi that had run off the road near the New Castle exit and into a pond around 2:40 p.m.
When Snyder entered the State Road 3 intersection, a semi reportedly pulled into the path of his vehicle. The trooper swerved, but was unable to come to a stop before striking the rear wheels of the semi.
Snyder was transported from the scene by Henry County EMS and was treated at Henry Community Health Hospital for minor injuries.
The driver of the semi, Kenneth Brinkmann, 57, was uninjured. He was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
