Standoff ends on north side of Indianapolis, no one was taken into custody

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A standoff on the city’s north side ended three hours after it began, and no one was taken into custody.

According to police, the incident began around 11:30 a.m. when a woman was shot in the leg near the intersection of East 46th Street and Evanston Avenue.

Police believed the shooting suspect was in a home near the incident, and there was a heavy police presence in the area for several hours as they tried to get the suspect to come out.

Around 2:45 p.m. they discovered that the suspect in the shooting wasn’t in the house after all, and they cleared the scene.
