GREENWOOD, Ind. – Both lanes of State Road 135 reopened in Greenwood Thursday evening following a gas leak.

The road was closed for multiple hours after a construction crew struck a large natural gas pipeline near the intersection of Meridian Oaks Drive, according to police.

Officers say the ruptured pipeline has been shut off. The shutoff will reportedly only affect nearby businesses.

Repairs to the pipeline are expected to continue throughout the night.
