Indiana State Police said George W. Surber has been found. The Silver Alert has been cancelled at the request of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.

According to Richmond’s Kicks 96, Surber was found in London, Kentucky.


RICHMOND, Ind. – The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Richmond man.

Officers say 79-year-old George W. Surber was last seen in Richmond around 5p.m. Monday and is believed to be in danger.

Surber is 5’8” tall, weighing 200 lbs., with short grey hair, blue eyes and glasses. He was last seen wearing a short sleeve polo shirt, ball cap, and silver watch and ring. He has a tattoo on his left arm with the letters USMS displayed.

Surber may be disoriented and require medical attention.  He is believed to be traveling in a 1998 Red Dodge pickup truck with license plate TK584MHE. The cab of the truck may contain a quantity of winter clothing.
