Shooting on Indy’s northeast side leaves man dead

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a shooting left a man dead Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the 3800 block of North Post Road just after 11 a.m. Saturday on a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

On Monday, the victim was identified as 18-year-old Michael Evans.

Homicide detectives responded and immediately began canvassing the area for witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence.
