IMPD arrests man for alleged role in deadly shooting on city’s northeast side


INDIANAPOLIS — Police arrested a man Sunday for his alleged role in a deadly shooting Saturday on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 10100 block of Pineneedle Court just before 5 p.m. Saturday. They arrived to find a man inside an apartment with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner’s office identified him as 65-year-old Michael McDowell.

IMPD says homicide detectives worked through the night to gather evidence, which led to the arrest of 38-year-old Daniel “Cory” Rhodes.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a decision on final charges.
