Shooting on Indy’s near east side leaves 1 critically wounded

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after one person was critically wounded in a shooting Tuesday afternoon.

The IMPD said the shooting happened around 5 p.m. in the 800 block of North Oakland Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a victim with injuries consistent with a gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
