INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-- An investigation is underway after a shooting Thursday afternoon on the east side of Indianapolis.
Officers were called to the 6800 block of East 32nd Street, near East 30th Street and Shadeland Avenue, just after 2 p.m. The shooting happened near or at a plastics processing facility.
When officers arrived, they found one person at the scene who had been shot. That victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. A short time later, police say two more people arrived at a hospital with apparent gunshot wounds. Their conditions are not known.
Police say two men and a woman were involved.
Preliminary information shows these two situations are related. Police believe the situation is contained and there's no further threat. The shooting may have started as an ongoing argument, but the investigation is still in its early stages.
At this time, police say they are not classifying the incident as workplace violence or attaching any sort of label.
