Shooting in Fishers leaves teen dead, another injured

FISHERS, Ind. — Police are investigating after one teenager was killed and another was injured in a shooting Thursday night.

The Fishers Police Department said the shooting happened at Best Choice Fieldhouse near I-69 and 116th Street around 9:45 p.m. Two teenagers were in the parking lot when they were shot while getting into a vehicle. Both teens were transported to a local hospital.

On Friday, the coroner confirmed one of the victims, 17-year-old Thomas Pearson Jr., died. The other victim, also 17 years old, is listed in “stable” condition.

Police say the suspects left the scene in an older model brown Toyota Camry.

Fishers police say the shooting was not random and don’t believe there’s a current threat to the community.
