JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. – An Indiana State Trooper was injured on I-65 Friday night after a semi struck his vehicle while investigating a separate crash near Crothersville.

Police say Trooper Michael Thiron was attempting to move his 2013 Dodge Charger into the median when  Patrick Gregory, 30, struck the vehicle from behind with his 2012 Freightliner pulling a box trailer.

Thiron’s vehicle reportedly spun into the median and came to rest up against a cable barrier. The trooper was then transported to Schneck Medical Center for treatment of possible head injuries.  He was treated and released overnight.  Gregory was not injured in the crash.

Northbound lanes were slow for around two hours as the crash was investigated and cleaned up. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
