President-elect Trump releases video detailing plans for first 100 days of administration

WASHINGTON, D.C. – What will the first 100 days of the Donald Trump administration look like?

We have a better idea after the president-elect released a video Monday outlining his plans for the presidency and covering some of the actions he plans to take once he’s in office.

Trump, saying he would put “America first,” wants to withdraw from trade agreements like the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which he called “a potential disaster.” He pledged to pursue “fair” and “bilateral” trade deals that would bring jobs to the U.S.

Trump said he would cancel “job-killing” restrictions on American energy, including shale energy and clean coal—a move he said would create “many millions” of high-paying U.S. jobs.

On immigration, the president-elect said he would direct the Department of Labor to investigate abuses of visa programs that “undercut the American worker.”

“Whether it’s producing steel, building cars or curing disease, I want the next generation of production and innovation to happen right here, on our great homeland: America – creating wealth and jobs for American workers,” Trump said in the video.

Trump will direct the Department of Defense and Joint Chiefs of Staff to formulate plans to protect the America’s infrastructure from cyber-attacks and all other forms of attacks.

He also mentioned ethics reform, announcing plans to impose a five-year ban on executive officials becoming lobbyists after they leave and a lifetime ban on executive officials lobbying on behalf of foreign governments.

The video comments are Trump’s first to the American people since his election. He has not held a traditional post-election news conference.

Of the transition between administrations, Trump said his team was “working very smoothly, efficiently and effectively.” He called his team “truly great and talented men and women, patriots indeed.”

Trump said more announcements would be coming in the next few days.
