Police: Torso of man found in White River has distinctive tattoo

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 17, 2016) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police, along with the Indianapolis Fire Department are investigating after a man’s torso was found in the White River Sunday morning.

Officials were called to the river near West New York Street just before 8:45 a.m.

IFD removed the unidentified torso and brought it to the river banks.

Police have not provided any information about the man’s race, age or how the body ended up in the water. Police do say the man had a distinctive tattoo on his back, saying “Only God Can Judge Me”.

Detectives are hoping that someone will recognize the tattoo and will help with identify of the victim. If you recognize the tattoo, you’re asked to contact IMPD Homicide Detective Charles Benner at (317) 327-3311.
