INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police are searching for two to three men who they say robbed an east side Steak ‘n  Shake and its customers at gunpoint Saturday.

Officers responded to the restaurant at 7930 East Washington Street around 4:06 a.m. to investigate the robbery in progress.

While in route, dispatch said that two to three black males armed with guns had entered the business, demanded money and then fled northbound on foot.

When officers arrived on scene, a witness told them he was sitting in his vehicle when two of the men came up to his window, pointed guns at him and demanded him to get out and go inside the restaurant. When inside of the business, the witness told police that the men demanded that everyone put their money on a table and one suspect stole money from the register.

Witnesses described the suspects as black men in their late teens/early 20s, one in a gray hoodie and one in a black hoodie.
