Police searching for driver after crash on Monon Trail

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Police say a driver crashed into the Monon Trail Tuesday and ran away.

The crash occurred sometime after 2 p.m. on East 96th Street where the trail crosses.

According to police, a man lost control of the wheel before crashing onto the trail and knocking down a stop sign. The driver then ran away and left two women in the car. Officers are speaking with them.

Police are still looking for the driver. They describe him as a black male in a black shirt and black shorts. Officers belive he is in his 20s.
