UPDATE: The Indiana State Police say investigators were notified Sunday morning that 44-year-old John Resetar, the suspect in Friday’s standoff in Randolph County, has died.
RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Four people were injured after a domestic situation resulted in an hours-long standoff Friday.
The Indiana State Police said the situation started around 3 p.m. Friday when a Randolph County Deputy responded to a home in the 800 block of West Chuch Street along with the Lynn Marshall and Lynn Deputy Marshall. The call was in response to a domestic situation between a man and his wife.
When the officers arrived, the ISP says they were fired on by a man inside the home with a rifle. The officer retreated, but one of the officers was hit with shrapnel from one of the rounds.
Other agencies arrived and a shootout started between officers and the man inside the home. During the shootout, two other officers were hit with shrapnel.
The shooting stopped around an hour after the incident began. Police tried contacting the man for four hours before SWAT entered the home and found the suspect, John Resetar, downstairs unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound.
Resetar was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries before being transported to an Indianapolis hospital where he was last listed in critical condition.
The officers injured in the incident suffered non-life threatening injuries. The injured officers were from the Lynn Police Department, Farmland Police Department and the Randolph County Sheriff's Department.
The ISP said officers found numerous firearms throughout the home with several rounds of ammunition.
The ISP continues to investigate the case as of Saturday morning.
Police are investigating an active shooter situation at a home in Lynn, Ind.
Indiana State Police say the situation is happening in the 800 block of West Church Street. Police say the incident started after officers responded to a domestic disturbance report. When they arrived, officers were fired at by an individual from inside the home.

The Indiana State Police say an officer suffered non-life threatening injuries after being hit by debris at the scene. A negotiator was dispatched and a medical helicopter is in the area.
Numerous agencies are on the scene and the surrounding blocks have been shut down. Police tell people to avoid the area and stay indoors, as the person continues to fire at officers.
