Police: Deadly shooting on Indy’s east side being investigated as self-inflicted

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police say they are investigating a deadly shooting on the city’s east side as self-inflicted.

Police were called to the 4000 block of E. 34th Street in response to a person shot Wednesday evening.

Officers arrived to find a person suffering from at least one gunshot wound. That person was pronounced dead a short time later.
