INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 2, 2015) – An Indianapolis man tried to steal steak from a grocery store Sunday afternoon by shoving it down his pants, police say.

Officers were called to the Marsh store at 2135 North Post Rd. around 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, according to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Once there, officers found Harvey Mims, 53, who had put about $80 worth of steak “down his pants and (was) attempting to shoplift the meat,” the report said.

Mims was arrested on a theft charge and taken to the Arrestee Processing Center.
