LAFAYETTE, Ind.– Police arrested a Lafayette woman who allegedly left her child at a Taco Bell and drove home while under the influence of alcohol.

Beth Helton, 35, faces charges of operating while intoxicated and neglect. Police say her child was found at the Taco Bell on Teal Road after Helton had left the business.

She was later found arriving back at home. Police said she appeared to be intoxicated and they began an OWI investigation. She didn’t know where the child was when officers spoke with her.
