INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 29, 2015) – Police are searching for two suspects after a man was fatally shot on the city’s northeast side Sunday afternoon.

IMPD responded to Phoenix Apartments in the 4100 block of Edgemere Court around 2:20 p.m. on a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds.

22-year-old Benjamin Lynch died from his injuries at the hospital.

Detectives learned that the victim was speaking with two unknown male subjects outside the residence at this location prior to the shooting. An altercation ensued and the victim was shot several times by an unknown subject. One suspect ran east bound and another suspect ran west bound. The weapon used in this incident was not retrieved.

The Marion County Forensic Service Agency arrived to process the crime scene and search for additional evidence in this case. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Marion County Coroner once an autopsy has been performed scheduled for tomorrow.
