Driver faces charges after motorcyclist dies in Pittsboro crash

PITTSBORO, Ind. – The driver of a pickup trucker faces multiple charges after a motorcyclist died in a crash this morning in Pittsboro.

The crash occurred just before 6:30 a.m. Pittsboro Police Chief Scott King says the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Jeff Gordon Boulevard near I-74 when the driver of a pickup truck headed northbound turned in front of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was identified as Joseph Strong, 35, of Lizton. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pickup truck was driven by Ramon Ibanez Rutiaga. He was cited for failure to yield making a left turn and faces a misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a driver’s license.
