Police investigate burglary after pickup truck smashes back door of store

INDIANAPOLIS (March 25, 2016) – Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating after a vehicle smashed the back door of a store to gain entry.

Officers were dispatched to the 4400 block of East 10th Street around 3 a.m. Friday in response to a business alarm.

When they arrived on scene, officers say they found a red pickup truck had crashed into the back door of a City Gear store.

Police say a suspect or suspects used the pickup truck to gain entry to the store to burglarize it, and got away with three pairs of shoes.

According to officers on scene, the truck was empty when they arrived and there was no one inside the store.

No suspect information has been released at this time.
