Police investigate assault at Hamilton Southeastern High School, one student taken to hospital

FISHERS, Ind.- There are now more details about an assault investigation happening at Hamilton Southeastern High School involving two students, one of whom ended up in the hospital.

Fishers Police are investigating the assault which happened Thursday afternoon on the high school grounds. Police say the incident happened during a track event. According to police, one student involved was taken to the hospital by a family member, while the other student was taken in for questioning by police.

“HSE has had a great reputation from everything that we know of so it was shocking,” said parent Amy Moody, who heard about the investigation shortly after it started.

“When you send your child to play a sport you always hope that they’re going to be in a safe atmosphere,” said Moody, “so for something like this to happen it sends a shock I think to all the parents.”

A district spokeswoman said they are aware of the incident and are cooperating with Fishers Police as the investigation continues. So far no one has been arrested or charged with anything related to what occurred.
