MUNCIE (Dec. 10, 2014) – Police in Muncie arrested a man who entered a home on through a doggy door.

A woman returned to her West Washington Street home on Friday to find the lights were off. She knew she’d left them on when she’d left earlier.

She called police and told them she was afraid someone was in the house, according to court documents. She also said the house had a doggy door in the back that can be used to get in the house.

The woman turned over her house key, and police went inside. Two officers went in through the front door. They found Jeddie Eppard, 44, sleeping on the couch.

He was handcuffed and escorted out of the home before being taken to the Delaware County Jail on a felony charge of residential entry, police said.
