Police arrest 7 people after 2-year investigation into Jennings County heroin ring

NORTH VERNON, Ind. (May 7, 2015) – Police arrested seven people on various drug charges after a nearly two-year investigation into a heroin operation in Jennings County.

The Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section launched the investigation in July 2013 and made the arrests on Monday, May 4, 2015. Some of the suspects were already incarcerated when arrest warrants were issued.

The investigation included a series of drug purchases by undercover officers. The operation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including Indiana State Police, Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, North Vernon Police Department, Columbus Police Department and Jennings County Prosecutor’s Office

Arrested in the case were:

  • Margo D. Garris 34, of Jennings County, currently housed in Jennings County Jail on unrelated offense, one count dealing heroin, Level 6 Felony
  • Tony C. Pearson 31, of Jennings County, currently housed in Indiana Department of Corrections-Branchville on unrelated offense, three counts of dealing heroin, Level 6 Felony
  • Travis F. Clark 29, of Jennings County, currently housed in Jennings County Jail on unrelated offense, three counts of dealing heroin, Level 6 Felony
  • Edward “Jesse” Swindall 40, of Seymour, currently housed in Jackson County Jail on unrelated offense, two counts of dealing heroin
  • Justin H. Gribbins 29, of Columbus, one count of dealing heroin, Level 6 Felony
  • Suzan N. Pettit 23, of Columbus, three counts of dealing heroin, Level 6 Felony
  • Brandi N. Harrison 29, of North Vernon, one count dealing marijuana, Level 6 Felony
