ANDERSON, Ind. – The Anderson Police Department issued an Amber Alert Sunday after three children were reportedly abducted.

Blake Rindahl, 28, was apprehended Sunday night in Roscoe, Ill., after Anderson police say he was involved in a domestic dispute with his wife and then kidnapped his three children. They were found reportedly found unharmed and safe.

Police say Rindahl called police and spoke to a detective before surrendering and turning himself in. He pulled off I-95, told them which exit he was at, and was taken into custody without incident.

Roscoe is a few miles away from the Illinois-Wisconsin state line. Extradition proceedings are underway.

Police confirmed the mother in this case had a protective order against the suspect. Preliminary charges against Rindahl include battery, strangulation and violation of a protective order.

On Monday, the Department of Child Services (DCS) took the children from the mother’s custody, but said she is not under investigation at this time.
