WARREN COUNTY, Ind. – An Illinois man was killed in a plane crash in Warren County.

Using a helicopter, Indiana State Police located the body of 68-year-old George P. Irick Jr. in the wreckage near CR 575 and SR 263 on Sunday.

Authorities were notified of the crash shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Law enforcement responded to the scene and searched the area for about six hours, but search was called off due to rugged terrain of trees, ravines and fences.

The search resumed at about 8 a.m. Sunday. The ISP helicopter arrived on the scene and the plane was found after about 20 minutes. The pilot was found to be the only occupant.

The FAA and NTSB have been notified. The investigation is continuing.
