INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Officials at Pike High School released a statement after a graphic video allegedly showing two students engaging in intercourse surfaced on social media Monday afternoon.

CBS4 reached out to the school after receiving numerous calls and emails from concerned parents and students about the incident. Metropolitan School District of Pike Township officials confirmed they are investigating the situation and have spoken with the students involved.

The school district’s communication director, Sarah Dorsey, issued the following statement:

“We are aware of the video that was posted on social media which appears to depict two students engaged in inappropriate behavior. The situation has been dealt with and discussed with the students involved and their parents.”

CBS4 inquired into the possibility of a criminal investigation in relation to this video. Dorsey responded with the following statement:

“At this time, that has not been ruled out as a possibility. For that reason, it would not be prudent for us to make any comments beyond what has already been shared.”

Pike school police have handled the investigation since the incident was reported. IMPD said they have not been asked to assist at this time.
