Person shot, killed on city’s near-west side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Police are investigating after a person was shot and killed on the city’s near-west side Saturday morning.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene on the 1100 block of N Centennial St just before 9:25 a.m. They found 42-year-old Jason Breeden of Indianapolis dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Officers found a handgun near the scene and detained one man, who cooperated with law enforcement, for questioning. Police say although no arrests have been made in the case, they are not searching for any suspects.
