Person dies after shooting on Indy’s near east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A person has died after being shot on the near east side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday, police were called to the 1200 block of North Tuxedo Street in regards to a person shot. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Medical personnel transported the man to an area hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced dead despite lifesaving efforts.

Homicide Detectives were canvassing the area Thursday evening looking for any witnesses.
