LAWRENCE, Ind. – A teen was shot and killed at a Lawrence shopping center Friday evening, according to police.

Deputy Chief Gary Woodruff says officers found the victim, 18-year-old Conway Jefferson, when they responded to a shots fired run in the 8100 block of Pendleton Pike shortly after 6:30 p.m.

Investigators believe there were two groups fighting when Jefferson was fatally shot.

Another person was shot in the arm during the incident and walked into Community Hospital North, according to police.

This was the first homicide in Lawrence this year.
