Owen County toddler Shaylyn Ammerman to be laid to rest

SPENCER, Ind. (March 30, 2016) – A 1-year-old Owen County girl will be laid to rest Wednesday.

Shaylyn Ammerman disappeared last week, setting off a massive search involving multiple law enforcement agencies. She was last seen late at night on March 22 and was reported missing the following morning. Police found her body Thursday.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday at the Christian Life Center in Spencer. Visitation begins at 3 p.m. Her funeral will follow at 7 p.m. Pastor Alvin McFadden will officiate, and services are open to the public.

The funeral home is offering its services free of charge.

A private burial will be held at Chambersville Cemetery in Spencer. Mourners can leave their condolences here.

Kyle Parker was arrested in connection with her disappearance on Thursday night. On Monday, several charges were filed against Parker, including murder and rape.
