PHOENIX, AZ (March 30, 2016) – A truck hauling an Indy race car caught fire Wednesday morning in Arizona.

The truck, which was hauling Sébastien Bourdais’ car, was en route to Phoenix International Raceway when it caught fire Wednesday morning along State Route Loop 101 and 75 Avenue. The truck was just about 15 minutes from Phoenix Raceway.

No one was injured in the fire. Kevin Diamond, Public Relations Manager for KVSH Racing, says they are assessing damage and coming up with a plan of action.

Bourdais was scheduled to race Saturday in the Desert Diamond West Valley Phoenix Grand Prix.

This isn’t the first time a truck hauling an Indy race car has caught fire. An Ed Carpenter racing hauler caught fire in Flagstaff, Arizona on its way to Fontana, California in September 2013.
