CHICAGO (November 16, 2015) — A Chicago woman accused of throwing her infant daughter to her death from an eighth-floor window appeared in court Monday where a judge allowed a scheduled bond hearing to be delayed.
Prosecutors say 19-year-old Mubashra Uddin hid her pregnancy and killed the baby because she feared her parents. They say she gave birth to a full-term baby girl last week and dropped the baby out of a bedroom window as she heard her mother approaching.
Uddin’s attorney, Adam Sheppard, says he plans to argue that Uddin be released on bail when the bond hearing occurs Thursday.
According to the Chicago Tribune, He says her family is “standing by her.”
Prosecutors want Uddin held without bail.
