CENTENNIAL, Colo. – If you don’t have a getaway car, just hire a taxi.

That’s what authorities say one thief did during a bank robbery in Colorado last week, reports KDVR.

According to the FBI, the man took a cab from Denver to Centennial to rob the Public Service Credit Union on May 25. He had the cabbie wait for him and then asked the driver to take him to Denver International Airport, just like it was a normal fare.

The man was carrying a small pistol when he told a bank teller to give him cash and then left the bank. Investigators released video of him riding in the cab as well as surveillance pictures of the heist.

While the robber’s final destination was the airport, investigators weren't sure if he actually boarded a plane.
