(Aug. 6, 2015) – Over the years, Arby’s has been the subject of numerous barbs from “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart.

Now, as Stewart’s time on the show comes to an end, Arby’s is taking the chance to say “thank you for being a friend.”

The fast-food chain bought ad time during Wednesday’s “Daily Show” to show it’s a good sport. The commercial features several instances in which Stewart lampooned Arby’s, gems including, “come for the tweets, run from the meats” and “technically, it’s food.” The commercial is set to a version of the theme song from “The Golden Girls.” It concludes with the tagline “not sure why, but we’ll miss you.”

Arby’s also ran another commercial, a 30-second ad focused on one of its sandwiches with the tagline “it’s not a goodbye, it’s a sandwich.”
