INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Icy conditions Friday night and Saturday morning kept Indianapolis Metropolitan police officers busy.

IMPD said officers responded to more than 250 accidents from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday. That include 40 personal injury accidents, IMPD said.

Marion County dispatchers also had a busy night. The Marion County 911 Center took 1,946 911 calls from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

With more precipitation expected in the forecast Saturday into Sunday, city roads and interstates could again be hazardous during the night and morning hours. IMPD says drivers should stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. If you have to go out, use caution and adjust for the weather conditions.

If you find yourself in an emergency, call 911. For non-emergency situations—such as a slide-off—call the non-emergency number at (317) 327-3811.
