MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (April 20, 2016) – A 2-month-old girl was found safe Tuesday afternoon, but her mother’s whereabouts remain a mystery, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Diamond Lewis, 23, and her daughter Morgan Williams were first reported missing on Sunday.
The Chicago Tribune says the 2-month-old was in the custody of Child Protective Services, as of 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Police will not comment on whether there is a reason to believe foul play was involved or where the infant was found.
Lewis, about 5’3″ tall and approximately 165 pounds, may be in a tan 1999 Buick with Indiana license plate WTK341.
A family member says Lewis frequently travels through central Indiana and could be in the area.
Anyone with information should call the Merrillville Police Department at 219-769-3531.
